Game 42: Rays at Red Sox lineups and notes

This year's edition of the Tampa Bay Rays might not resemble the 2023 squad that finished just shy of 100 wins, but Monday night showed it still knows how to get the better of the Red Sox. The Rays used a big first inning to jump out to an early lead en route to a 5-3 win at Fenway . The Sox have won just two of 14 meetings against Tampa Bay since the beginning of last season. They will hope to reverse that trend when they send Nick Pivetta to the mound Tuesday. He will be opposed by Aaron Civale, who will make his first appearance at Fenway since 2015 when he pitched for Northeastern in the Beanpot.
