C Brian McCann drove in three runs in Atlanta's 8-6 win at Philadelphia on Wednesday, but was more excited at having caught Tom Glavine's first win of the season and first since returning to the Braves. "It's another milestone for me that I get to take with me for the rest of my life," McCann said. "To get Tommy's first win back in Atlanta is just special." ... Glavine had to sweat this one out though, as Atlanta gave him an 8-0 lead to work with through five innings before he gave up four in the sixth before departing. "No matter how much you've been playing, you learn things," Glavine said. "If I can come away with one thing, it's don't look up at the scoreboard. As far as I'm concerned, every game I go out there is 1-0. That's the way I have to pitch." ... Ironically, Glavine's last win as a Brave also came against the Phillies, back on September 19, 2002. st 05-15-08 0:30 et |
