Gonzalez earned a win Monday as the Nationals defeated the Phillies, 2-1. He pitched six scoreless innings and allowed three hits and three walks to go along with nine strikeouts.
Recommendation: Gonzalez has won four starts in a row and already has six wins this season. Not only does he have a sparkling 1.98 ERA and 0.99 WHIP, but he has recorded 69 strikeouts in 54.2 innings pitched. Changing to the National League has provided a big boost to Gonzalez's fantasy value and he should continue to be an excellent option for the rest of the season.

LHP Gio Gonzalez gave the Nationals another strong start, going seven innings in the 7-4 victory over the Pirates in the Wednesday series opener. Gonzalez struck out 10 overall and improved to 5-1 this season. He's now struck out 60 batters in 48 2/3 innings.
