Danks is expected to be placed the DL retroactive to Sunday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. An MRI on his left shoulder showed the injury to the subscapularis a major muscle in the rotator cuff is not serious.
Recommendation: He's expected to miss starts against the Indians at home Friday and against the Rays on the road Wednesday before returning to pitch against the Blue Jays on June 5 at home.

Danks is headed to the 15-day disabled list because of soreness in his left shoulder.
Advice: Manager Robin Ventura says Jose Quintana will be called up and start Friday in his place. Danks thinks he'll be ready to rejoin the rotation after June 4. Danks says he noticed the problem the day after his start against the Cubs on Saturday, when he threw 83 pitches over 6 1-3 scoreless innings. He had an MRI on Thursday, and he says he was ready to start against the Indians. But the team is taking a cautious approach.

LHP John Danks will be placed on the 15-day disabled list because of soreness of the back of his left shoulder.
The team had him undergo an MRI, and the results left the White Sox feeling that Danks should miss just two starts. He will go on the DL retroactive to May 20, and he'll miss turns against the Indians at home Friday and against the Rays at Tampa Bay on Wednesday before returning to pitch against the Blue Jays on June 5 at U.S. Cellular Field.
