RHP Mike Pelfrey threw 108 pitches in his first complete game, beating Atlanta, 6-3. The complete game came the day after manager Jerry Manuel said he would monitor Pelfrey's pitch count. Pelfrey threw 152 2/3 innings last year and is on pace for 179 this season. |

Pelfrey earned his 12th win of the year, allowing three runs in a complete game victory Wednesday over the Braves. He gave up only three hits, all singles. Recommendation: This game marks the first time in Pelfrey's career that he's gone the distance. He'd been alternating good and bad starts, so it's good to see him put together two consecutive quality outings. He also helped his own cause by singling in a run in the Mets' five-run first. |
