Marmol (hamstring) threw a simulated game at Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Recommendation: Marmol will officially start his rehab assignment Friday or Saturday.

RHP Carlos Marmol pitched a simulated game Wednesday at Class AAA (Des Moines) Iowa. Marmol is on the DL with a hamstring strain. He's scheduled to pitch in a game at Iowa Saturday or Sunday. If all goes well, he'll likely be activated Memorial Day. That also goes for C Steve Clevenger, who played in his second rehab game at Iowa. He DH'd Tuesday and caught Wednesday.
