1B Casey Kotchman had three of the Indians' 12 hits Tuesday. Kotchman, who hit .149 in April, is hitting .306 in May. "We knew he'd come up to his level," said manager Manny Acta. "He's a dependable guy at the plate and a really good first baseman."

Kotchman is not in Sunday's lineup against the Marlins, the Indians' official site reports.
Recommendation: Kotchman, who checks in with an average of .211 through 123 at-bats, will take a seat Sunday, with Carlos Santana starting at first base and Lou Marson getting the nod behind the plate for the Indians.
