RHP Mike MacDougal had arthroscopic surgery on his right hip to repair an injury that hampered the Nationals' closer during the season's final week. MacDougal, who recorded saves in 20 of 21 opportunities after taking over as closer in June, will need six to eight weeks to recover from the procedure and is expected to be 100 percent in advance of spring training.
