Next Match: at home to Torino, January 27 Europe: UEFA Europa League (Round of 32) Inter Milan head coach Andrea Stramaccioni has several tricky questions to answer ahead of Torino's trip to the San Siro. First, the Inter boss must address a poor run that has seen his side drift nine points away from league leaders Juventus, a run that has seen the Nerazzurri win one game in five games. Secondly, with Wesley Sneijder's move to Galatasaray rubber stamped and a number of first-team regulars struggling for fitness, Stramaccioni must find viable replacements. Corinthians midfielder Paulinho and Younes Belhanda of Montpellier are two names in the frame, although Inter director Marco Branca denied making a 14million euro bid for the latter. Stramaccioni was also disappointed with the outcome of Inter's Coppa Italia semi-final first leg at Roma, but satisfied with his players' efforts. After the 2-1 defeat, he said: "Overall I was pleased with Inter's performance. I must congratulate Roma though, they set up the victory in the first half, but the tie is still open, very open." In terms of recruitment before the transfer window closes, he added: "I'm only thinking about my players, the ones I have here and I'd like to congratulate them. I'll keep the players I've got. Now we dive back into league action, I've got great faith in this group of players." Dejan Stankovic, Luca Castellazzi, Ricky Alvarez, Walter Samuel, Diego Milito, Antonio Cassano and Philippe Coutinho are all out injured. Inter have an excellent record against Torino, winning 14 out of 17 meetings since the Granata last claimed all three points back in February 1994. |
