Next Match: away to Atalanta, January 27 Europe: UEFA Champions League (Round of 16)AC Milan are urging Manchester City to lower their asking price for unsettled Mario Balotelli as they look to bring the Italy striker back to the San Siro. A self-confessed Milan fan, Balotelli has an uncertain future in England and Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani is eager to push through a deal. He said: "If Balotelli's price comes down then I'll get over to Manchester immediately." Talks have stalled over a long-term loan move for club legend Kaka, currently with Real Madrid. Milan president Silvio Berlusconi told Gazzetta.it: "As a fan I have always dreamed of his return. Not just because he is a great player but because he is a great man and he has always been in our hearts." Real are holding out for a permanent sale while Milan prefer the option of separate installments over the 18 months before the Ballon d'Or winner's contract expires at the Bernabeu. Head coach Massimiliano Allegri also confirmed the addition of a "champion" like Didier Drogba to his squad would be gratefully received, with the Ivorian striker rumoured to be unhappy in China. The Rossoneri reached sixth place with victory over Bologna last time out and they could reach fifth place with all three points from Atalanta, should Fiorentina lose at Catania. Nigel De Jong's season is over, with Mario Yepes, Massimo Ambrosini and Didac Vila all sidelined for the near future. Milan are out for revenge in Bergamo having suffered a 1-0 home defeat in September's reverse fixture. |
