Washington Commanders CB Michael Davis 'Honored' to Have 'Great Opportunity'
The Washington Commanders have had a very active offseason adding talent to every single position group on the roster. One of those new faces, cornerback Michael Davis, comes to the Commanders after playing his first seven NFL seasons playing for the Los Angeles Chargers. "Honestly, just the opportunity," Davis told Bryan Colbert on the team's Command Center program when asked about why he chose Washington in free agency. It was my time for me to be on the East Coast, for me to be here for you guys with the Commanders.

It's not the sexy pick, but it's a pick thats going to make the Chargers better immediately and in the long term. Even though they needed wide receiver help, they also needed help at tackle and got a 10-year, Pro Bowl level starter in Joe Alt.

Expert Commentary
The Chargers desperately needed a wide receiver and traded up to get the speedy playmaker from Georgia. He was a force for the Dawgs from Day 1 and a fantastic route runner for an offense that featured several NFL players. It’s an unproven wide receiver room for the Chargers, but McConkey and Quentin Johnston have some promise at least.

The Chargers really needed a linebacker in the draft and Jim Harbaugh went back to Michigan to find one. Colson is one of the better linebacker prospects in the draft and his athleticism should help him make plays early for the Chargers.
