Zucker agrees to five-year, $27.5M deal with Wild

Minnesota Wild forward Jason Zucker agreed to a five-year, $27.5 million deal on Wednesday, the team announced.

Zucker, a restricted free agent, will have a $5 million salary this season, according to the team. The following four seasons break down this way: $6.25 million in 2019-20, $4.8 million in 2020-21, $6.25 million in 2021-22 and $5.2 million in 2022-23.

The 26-year-old Zucker set career highs with 33 goals and 64 points last season. His 31 assists also represented a career best.

Zucker has tallied 172 points (97 goals, 75 assists) in 330 career games with the Wild since first reaching the NHL during the 2011-12 season.

He also scored more than 20 goals on two other occasions when he had 22 in 2016-17 and 21 in 2014-15.

Zucker was a second-round pick in the 2010 draft.
