Bruins' Zdeno Chara out at least 4 weeks with knee injury
The Boston Bruins haven’t received much positive news recently on the defensive side of the puck, and things are about to get worse before they get better.
It was revealed on Saturday that Zdeno Chara will be out at least four weeks with a left MCL injury and the club will re-evaluate its captain in roughly a month’s time.
Chara’s injury seemed to occur when he collided with Avalanche forward Carl Soderberg near the boards late in the first period of Wednesday’s contest in Colorado. The veteran rearguard flew back to Boston while the injury-riddled Bruins continue to trudge through a four-game road trip.

Chara’s name now gets added to the long list of blue-line injuries for the Bruins, as Charlie McAvoy (concussion), Brandon Carlo (upper body), Urho Vaakanainen (concussion), John Moore (lower body), and Kevan Miller (hand) are all currently on the shelf.
