Zach Miller sends heartfelt message to fans, medical staff after horrible injury

Chicago Bears tight end Zach Miller suffered an injury that, unfortunately, will be memorable for anyone who witnessed it.

Miller suffered a dislocated knee against the Saints on Oct. 29 trying to haul in a touchdown pass. The injury was so bad, doctors had to battle to save his leg in the aftermath.

On Monday, Miller sent a long and heartfelt message to the fans who reached out to him and thanked many others around the NFL, including the Bears organization. He also thanked the medical staff that worked on his leg. He said “without their teamwork, expertise and urgent care I do not know if the outcome would have been as successful.”

There’s a good chance that was Miller’s last play. He’s 33 years old, and that injury would be tough for anyone to come back from. Miller didn’t specifically reference his playing career in the Twitter post. If he does make it back to play again, that would be a fantastic story.

If he doesn’t play again, Miller sounds grateful for all of the well wishes and support he has received in the aftermath of his injury.
