Zach LaVine leaves game vs. Warriors, will get MRI on left knee

Chicago Bulls All-Star Zach LaVine left Friday night’s game early in the first quarter and will not return due to a left knee injury, per the team.

LaVine exited the game against the Warriors with 8:28 remaining in the first quarter after being called for an intentional foul to get himself out of the game. On the prior possession, LaVine grabbed an offensive rebound before turning the ball over.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that LaVine will get an MRI on the knee on Saturday, but the team has ‘initial confidence that he hasn’t suffered a serious injury’ as it’s being described as ‘discomfort’.

As K.C. Johnson of NBCS Chicago noted on Twitter, this is the same knee that LaVine tore his ACL in 2017.

LaVine is having another All-Star season for the Bulls as Chicago sits atop the Eastern Conference.
