The Rangers revealed a split of good and bad news Wednesday.
Headlining the two updates was New York's announcement that defenseman Jacob Trouba would be out for 4-6 weeks with an upper-body injury. Head coach David Quinn told reporters later that Trouba's issue was a broken thumb.
On the other hand, a much-needed positive sentiment came in the form of winger Artemi Panarin (lower-body injury) and defenseman K'Andre Miller (upper-body injury) making a return to the Rangers after missing Tuesday's game -- a 5-2 loss against the Devils at MSG.
Fourteen games into New York's 2021 season, Trouba has totaled three points -- all assists -- on 27 shots, plus 33 blocks and 48 hits.
The Rangers are 4-7-3, on a four-game losing streak.
New York looks for a bounce-back win with Thursday's 7 p.m. game against the Flyers (8-3-2) at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. According to Quinn, Panarin and Miller will play.
