The New York Mets added two free agents on Friday night.

New York and third basement Eduardo Escobar agreed on a two-year, $20 million deal, reported MLB Network's Jon Heyman.

The 32-year-old switch-hitting Escobar smacked 28 home runs with 90 RBI last season while batting .253 for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Milwaukee Brewers. He made the All-Star Game for the first time in his career.

Escobar is also versatile, having played first base, second base and shortstop last season.

Earlier in his career, he played for the Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins.

Last season, several players saw time at third base for the Mets, with Jonathan Villar (97 games), J.D. Davis (50) and Luis Guillorme (27) seeing the most time.

Mets add Mark Canha

Also, New York added outfielder Mark Canha on Friday. MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reports it's a two-year deal worth a guaranteed total of $26.5M, per source.

He hit .231 with 17 homers, 61 RBI and 12 stolen bases last season for the Oakland A's.

Canha, 32, has spent his entire major league career in Oakland. He hit a career-high 26 home runs in 2019.

Both deals are pending a physicals.
