The first NFL International Series game of the 2021 season kicks off Week 5 in a matchup between a pair of 1-3 squads: the New York Jets and the Atlanta Falcons.
Technically, it will go down as a Falcons home game, but it is being played in London and has an earlier kickoff, so be sure to set your alarms for early morning football.
Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson had his best day as a pro last week, when he helped New York overcome a seven-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat the Titans, 27-24, in overtime.
The game also involves a pair of rookie head coaches who are trying to build some momentum as we approach the middle of the season: Robert Saleh of the Jets and Arthur Smith of the Falcons.
The Falcons were on the other side of that in Week 4, after they held an eight-point lead early in the fourth quarter, but allowed the Washington Football Team to score 12 unanswered points to end the game. Atlanta lost the game, 34-30. Against the Jets, however, the Falcons will be without receiver Calvin Ridley, who is not making the trip to London because of a personal issue, the team announced.
