Yasiel Puig's World Series homer gets epic reaction from Red Sox pitcher

The big moments keep finding Yasiel Puig, and he keeps finding ways to make them bigger.

The Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder smashed a monstrous three-run home run in World Series Game 4 that opened up their lead to 4-0 and seemingly crushed the soul of Boston Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez.

If Rodriguez’s soul survived, his glove certainly didn’t. Not after he spiked it on the mound as Puig’s homer sailed into the left field bleachers.

What a scene that is.

Puig broke out his usual theatrics as well, dramatically dropping his bat before celebrating as he rounded the bases. The pure joy in his reaction and the anguish in Rodriguez’s captured the emotion we live to see in moments like this.

We wondered what kind of encore the Dodgers and Red Sox would give us after their historic Game 3. Obviously there wasn’t much offense leading up to the big moment. Eduardo Rodriguez was a big part of that, tossing five scoreless innings before the rough sixth inning. Rich Hill was just that much better in his six-plus innings.

The defining moment though will be Puig vs. Rodriguez, and how one swing seemingly put us on course for another classic World Series.
