The Yankees got some good news Friday afternoon: After Tommy John surgery concerns,
James Paxton was diagnosed with a Grade 1 strain of the left forearm flexor.
The news should come as a big relief to the Yankees and Paxton, who had an MRI after Thursday's game, however he's still been placed on the IL.
"He felt a little discomfort in his forearm/elbow the last couple of pitches of that fifth inning," Boone said Thursday. "So we've sent him to see what's going on there."
Even with their being an injury to deal with, it is certainly better than potentially losing Paxton for the entirety of the season, as the Yankees makes a serious World Series push.
