The Yankees have won six straight games and there's one reason why: their new pet turtle.

We're kidding, but seriously, ESPN's Sam Borden has found out Nestor Cortes Jr. led a group of players that bought a pet turtle following the Cleveland Indians series loss and the Yanks haven't lost since. They've been victorious in six straight games and head to Toronto for a crucial series with the Blue Jays looking for that same mojo.

And of course, that mojo comes from Bronxie (the turtle).

"There is a lot of love," Brett Gardner told Borden. "Everyone is also very aware of what's happening lately."

Coincidence that Bronxie has been roaming the Yanks clubhouse on the carpet while the team prepares for their opponents who can't beat them? I think not.

"I know a lot of guys believe there's a connection here," Gardner said.

New York will hope Bronxie can continue to work his magic over the next six games so the Yankees can compete for the World Series title. Heading into Toronto Tuesday to begin the three-game series with another team vying for a Wild Card spot, the Yanks know this series has the ability to solidify at least playing in that Wild Card game if they can sweep like they did Boston.
