Domingo German may be training down in Tampa, but it won’t be in preparation for the postseason.
“No just because obviously he hasn’t gotten to work out with us or throw with us. To be able to ramp him up and put him in this kind of situation isn’t fair to anyone,” Boone said.
German, whose 81-game suspension for violating MLB’s domestic violence policy is close to expiring, posted to his Instagram on Saturday running on a treadmill at Advanced Fitness of Tampa with the caption “It isn’t over till it’ over – Yogi.”
But as Boone said, it wouldn’t be smart for the Yankees to have German debut in 2020 during the heat of postseason play. They’ll instead focus on German being a part of their 2021 plans, something that Boone looks forward to.
“We look forward to Domingo being a really significant part of our team again heading into next year.”
