On the latest episode of Bet the Edge, Sara Perlman and Drew Dinsick recap Week 2 of the NFL preseason and note that Unders continue to do well as teams are putting more stock into joint practices and not playing their starters much on gameday. MLB favorites continue to crush in the month of August (199-99) and Drew explains why bettors shouldn't be surprised about the result.
NBC Sports EDGE's Kenny Ducey joins the show to highlight a few of his best bets for Monday's MLB slate. With both the Yankees and Braves riding nine-game winning streak, Kenny explains why there is value on New York with Jordan Montgomery on the mound. He also expects the White Sox's offensive struggles to continue tonight against the Mariners and is taking the Under team total runs (4.5).
College football is right around the corner and Thor Nystrom is diving into the win totals market for the Big 12 Conference. Even with an over/under of 11 wins, Thor explains why Oklahoma is poised for an undefeated season. Texas is under a new regime with Steve Sarkisian, and even though Thor believes he's one of the best offensive minds in the nation, he is taking the Longhorns under 8 total wins this season.
Drew and Sara wrap up today's episode with their Edge of the Day plays. Drew is eyeing the alternative line market for NFL win totals and finds value in the Bears under 6.5 wins (+165). Sara is in agreement with Kenny Ducey and is backing the Yankees (-105) over the Braves to make it 10 wins in a row.
