Yankee Jordan Montgomery hit in head with liner, will still make start Sunday

Sporting News

The Yankees had a scary moment during batting practice Saturday when Sunday starter Jordan Montgomery was hit in the head with a line drive during batting practice.

Like Dodgers starter Rich Hill on Friday night, though, Montgomery is still going to make his scheduled start Sunday vs. the Red Sox. Hill was hit in neck with fastball by Padres pitcher Clayton Richard.

It was a tense few minutes after Montgomery, a former South Carolina Gamecock, was hit in the head with the line drive. The Yankees took him into the dugout, where he held a towel to his head before proceeding to the locker room.
