Yan Gomes records three-hit performance at Colorado

Chicago defeated the Rockies, 5-4, Monday at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado.

Former Vol Yan Gomes started at catcher for the Cubs. He was 3-for-4, recoding three RBIs and one run. Gomes has recorded 10 hits in his last seven games.

Chicago has a three-game winning streak.

Gomes played at Tennessee from 2007-08 before transferring to Barry University.

He won the World Series with the Nationals in 2019. The former Vol was an American League All-Star with Cleveland. Gomes won a Silver Slugger Award while playing for Cleveland in 2014.

Chicago will next play Tuesday at Colorado. First pitch is slated for 8:40 p.m. at Coors Field.
