Wyoming East beats PikeView in VB section final
Nov. 2—CLEAR FORK — Carli Raye hammered out 22 kills as Wyoming East defeated PikeView 25-21, 25-22, 19-25, 25-11 Tuesday night, claiming the Class AA Region 3, Section 1 title at Westside High School.
The victory secured Wyoming East's second consecutive sectional volleyball title.
PikeView, which eliminated Mercer County rival Bluefield, beat Westside in an earlier game Tuesday before facing the Lady Warriors in the championship match.
Wyoming East and PikeView both advance to Saturdau's Region 3 tournament at Independence High School.
The Panthers will play the AA Region 3, Section 2 champion, while the Warriors will face the runner-up.
The two regional finalists will both qualify for the state volleyball tournament in Charleston, Nov. 8-9.
