Should you be worried about Alvin Kamara?

Through four weeks of the NFL season, New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara had been one of the top producers in fantasy football. He was a yardage machine, compiling 611 total yards from scrimmage through four games. He was also targeted a whopping 47 times in the passing game. That all came crashing down in dramatic fashion though, on Monday night against the Washington Redskins.

Week 5 marked the return of Kamara’s running mate, Mark Ingram, to the Saints, and man, did he deliver (16 carries, 53 yards, two touchdowns, two catches for 20 yards). On the flip side, Kamara managed six carries for 24 yards to go along with just three catches for 15 yards.

Consequently, social media exploded with Kamara owners worried that Ingram’s return could spell doom for Kamara’s rest-of-season outlook. Andy Behrens provides a little clarity to the situation unfolding in New Orleans. Lest we forget, Kamara and Ingram both had fantastic seasons in 2017, when both finished inside the top 10 among fantasy running backs. If anything else, Ingram’s return makes Kamara an enticing buy candidate while his owners are scrambling for answers.
