Are the Houston Astros the best team in baseball? You could make a strong case for it coming out of the All-Star Break after the Astros took a pair from the Yankees and steamrolled the Seattle Mariners. The Houston Astros' Express, however, was slowed last night by Skye Bolt and the Oakland Athletics. Bolt's 2-run blast was part of a 5-run fourth inning that doomed Jake Odorizzi to his third loss of the season.

Tonight, Luis Garcia (8-5, 3.65 ERA) takes the mound to try and get the Astros back in the win column against Frankie Montas (3-9, 3.16 ERA) and the Athletics.

The Washington Nationals and LA Dodgers meet up tonight at Chavez Ravine in Game 2 of their series. Showing know signs of being distracted by all the trade speculation, Juan Soto picked up a couple of hits – including his first triple of the season – and a couple of RBIs to lead the Nationals to their second consecutive win.

Tonight, Josiah Gray (7-6, 4.40 ERA) takes the ball for Washington while the Dodgers send out Mitch White (1-2, 3.78 ERA).

Tonight, on the diamond the EDGE MLB analysts have done a deep dive into the odds markets for these two MLB games. They have found two plays from each game. They are going head-to-head in a duel of sorts to see which game can produce a bigger payday.

The EDGE team of MLB analysts have paired up as follows: John Venezia (@_JohnnyVTV) and Vaughn Dalzell (@VmoneySports) have joined forces for Parlay #1 and DJ Short (@djshort) and Drew Silva (@drewsilv) have combined efforts for Parlay #2.

As mentioned, enjoy the plays individually or as parlays…with a boost courtesy of PointsBet.

Parlay #1:

Houston Astros -1.5 (+105) vs. Oakland Athletics

and

Luis Garcia 4+ Strikeouts vs Athletics

Parlay Boosted from +125 to +145 courtesy of PointsBet.

John Venezia (@_JohnnyVTV) and Vaughn Dalzell (@VmoneySports)

Houston has won Garcia's last 6 starts, covering the run line in four of them. Backed by a 2.25 ERA and .193 OBA on the road, Garcia should be on cruise control against the minor league Oakland team that has lost 13 of Frankie Montas' last 15 starts.

I like Luis Garcia to get four or more strikeouts tonight versus the Athletics as he has recorded 14 Ks over the past two meetings with the A's (10.0 IP).

Garcia's K Prop is 5.5, so we are discounting this SGP prop down to four Ks, a number he has hit three or four times vs Oakland and seven consecutive in 2022. The Astros pitcher has struck out at least four batters in 15 out of 17 starts this year (88.2%).

Parlay #2

Dodgers -1.5 (-125) vs. Nationals

and

Freddie Freeman to record an RBI (+145)

Parlay Boosted from +270 to +315 courtesy of PointsBet.

DJ Short (@djshort) and Drew Silva (@drewsilv):

After stranding 21 runners while falling 4-1 in Monday's series opener against the visiting Nationals, the Dodgers will be looking for revenge on Tuesday. Josiah Gray, the starter for Washington tonight, has allowed 13 earned runs through 16 2/3 innings (three starts) so far in July. He also throws right-handed, and Los Angeles carries by far the best OPS (.781) of any team versus right-handed pitching. This is a juicy one.

Freeman's 12-game hitting streak came to an end on Monday night, but he is still one of the hottest hitters in baseball at the moment. He is slashing .390 with six homers, 15 RBI, and a 1.171 OPS over 20 games this month. Gray would appear to be a good matchup for him, as he is allowed a .945 OPS against left-handed batters this season. Ouch. The young right-hander has been hit hard this month, so look for Freeman to have some opportunities to cash in tonight.

Again, play these individually or as parlays with a Boost from PointsBet.

Enjoy the night in baseball and enjoy the Late Sweat Duel.
