The craziest moment during a wild World Series Game 2 didn’t happen on the field. It actually happened in the Houston Astros bullpen, where an angry fan was arrested immediately after jumping in from his seat in the right field stands.
The incident happened in the 10th inning, right after the Astros had taken the lead on back-to-back home runs from Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa. Footage from the stands shows the fan yelling into the Astros bullpen, apparently looking for a fight with an unknown member of the Astros. He eventually jumps the rail, but is quickly subdued before he could get close to anyone from the Astros.
Here’s a clip of the incident. Be warned, some of the language is NSFW.
Credit Dodger Stadium security. They had two guards right there waiting for the fan. Within seconds, no less than 15 law enforcement officers and members of the security team converged and escorted the fan right out the stadium.
The scene was briefly shown on the Fox broadcast.
It looked far more chaotic during that brief moment on TV than it actually was, which we’re all thankful for.
The game was only briefly delayed as a result of the incident. The Astros would go on to win 7-6 in 11 innings to even the World Series at one win apiece.
