Women’s NCAA Tournament - Miami continues their historic upset run with victory over Villanova
Yahoo Sports women’s college basketball analyst Cassandra Negley breaks down how #9 Miami upset #4 Villanova to make it to their first-ever Elite 8.

CASSANDRA NEGLEY: This is Cassandra Negley with Yahoo Sports, where number nine Miami has upset number four Villanova and Maddie Siegrist. It was a huge lead for Miami early. They went up by 21 points. It looked like this was going to be done right out of the half, but Villanova mounted a huge comeback, took the lead in the end, but couldn't get enough baskets. They went to Maddie Siegrist down low, but everyone knew they were going to Maddie and they couldn't get the shots off to try and take this one to overtime or to try and keep their season alive.
Jasmyne Roberts had a huge game for Miami. She had a career-high 26 points. I spoke with Ja'Leah Williams in the locker room after the game because she had jumped up and cheered with the fans who were here in Greenville to celebrate them. She said she was super happy. It was huge to have them here and they keep gaining fans as they make this upset run through the bracket. We'll see them again on Sunday night in the Regional final here in Greenville.
