Woman exposes cheating boyfriend after receiving a bizarre 3 a.m. message: 'Wish the story wasn't real'

It’s hard to admit when your relationship has run its course. Luckily, one woman got a little unexpected help from a fitness app.

Nadia Essex, a relationship expert on British reality TV show Celebs Go Dating, took to TikTok to share the time she knew it was time to call it quits with her ex.

“Oh honey, I got a doozy,” she began.

Essex said she found out her boyfriend was cheating on her after his Fitbit congratulated him on hitting his fitness goals by burning off 500 calories between 2 and 3 a.m. while having a “night out with the boys.”

She saw the notification because their accounts were synced. Not for long, though — she ended the relationship after that.

Commenters were shocked.

“You’re so much better without him,” one user wrote.

“Note to self: Get a synced Fitbit,” another said.

One user brought up that he could have been dancing at the club at that time, but Essex just said her ex “wishes” that was what happened.

She isn’t the only one who has foiled a cheating lover with Fitbit data.

In 2019, NFL reporter Jane Slater told her Twitter followers that she also synced her Fitbit account with her boyfriend’s so they could motivate each other.

“Didn’t hate it until he was accounted for at 4 a.m. and his physical activity levels were spiking on the app,” she wrote. “Wish the story wasn’t real.”

If you’re going to cheat on your partner, maybe don’t … actually, no, I’ll stop there. Don’t!
