Avdija back in starting lineup vs. Nets originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

In his first game in three weeks, Wizards rookie Deni Avdija will be in the starting lineup for his team's matchup against the Brooklyn Nets Sunday night.

Scott Brooks confirmed Avdija would start and be on a minutes restriction as the young wing makes his way back from the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

Avdija will start alongside Russell Westbrook, Bradley Beal, Rui Hachimura and Robin Lopez.

Washington experienced six positive coronavirus tests on their roster after their win on January 11 over the Suns. The outbreak resulted in six postponements and a 13-day layoff. Since returning to the court, the Wizards have lost three straight to fall to 3-12 and the bottom of the Eastern Conference Standings.

With almost everyone back, they'll try to get back in the win column against Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and the Nets Sunday night at 7 p.m. on NBC Sports Washington.
