Wizards to get Bertans and Smith back from injury vs. Mavs originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

The struggling Wizards have some help on the way as both Davis Bertans and Ish Smith have been cleared to return from injury when Washington hosts the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday.

Bertans has missed the team's last seven games with a right calf strain. Smith has been out since Feb. 12 due to a quadriceps injury. He has missed the Wizards' last 24 games.

Bradley Beal remains questionable with a right hip contusion and Daniel Gafford is out with a right ankle sprain. But getting Bertans and Smith back is excellent news for the Wizards, who have lost 10 of 13 games since the All-Star break.

The Wizards have had trouble offensively, which both Bertans and Smith can help with. Bertans is their best shooter, while Smith is good at pushing the pace and generating open shots for others.

The Wizards are 17-30 with 25 games left on their schedule. As they cling to fading playoff hopes, Bertans and Smith should give Washington a boost when they need one.
