Winter storm wipes out Monday, Tuesday sports schedule

Jan. 10—OTTUMWA — The first winter storm of the season caused several area sporting events to be called on to start the new week. Multiple high school and college contests were impacted due to a system that brought nearly a foot of snow to southern Iowa.

Among the events postponed includes:

—Ottumwa girls basketball at Burlington on Monday. No reschedule date announced.

—Burlington at Ottumwa boys basketball at Burlington on Monday. No reschedule date announced.

—Ames at Ottumwa girl/boy basketball. Rescheduled for Jan. 18.

—Ottumwa wrestling at Des Moines Roosevelt. Rescheduled for Jan. 16.

—Fairfield vs. Davis County bowling at Champion Bowl on Monday. No reschedule date announced.

—Saydel at Moulton-Udell girls basketball on Monday. No reschedule date announced.

—Cardinal at Wapello boys basketball on Monday. Rescheduled for Jan. 20.

—Cardinal at Knoxville girl/boy basketball on Tuesday. Rescheduled for Jan. 29.

—Albia at EBF girl/boy basketball on Tuesday. Rescheduled for Jan. 20.

—Orient-Macksburg at Moravia girls basketball on Tuesday. No reschedule date announced.
