'A win at Copenhagen probably gets them through to Christmas'

Pat Nevin believes a second win for Manchester United over FC Copenhagen in the Champions League would buy Erik ten Hag until at least Christmas.

United are currently third in Group A, six points behind leaders Bayern Munich, with Galatasaray second, a point above United.

Victory over Copenhagen on Wednesday would put United back into contention for the last 16, but Nevin told BBC Radio 5 Live's Football Daily it will not be easy against the Danish side

"Everybody knows had they not got that late goal to win at the weekend, it would have had a different look," he said.

"I think the little bit of a lift they have got from that will help them, but it’s not going to be an easy game. In time gone past, you would think 'it’s only Copenhagen', but that is not the case here.

"They know that every game feels a massive pressure, not just for the club but for the manager as well. If they can get three points out of this one that probably gives them a lift and gets them through to Christmas."
