WildTurtle rejoins TSM to play at IEM Oakland

Jason “WildTurtle” Tran will be returning to his old home of Team SoloMid to play at IEM Oakland, the team announced on Twitter.

WildTurtle was the starting AD carry for TSM from 2013 through 2015, when he was replaced by Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng. Since then, he’s been playing for Immortals, where he rejuvenated his play and once again joined the ranks of the premier ADCs in the region.

WildTurtle’s return comes on the heels of Doublelift’s decision to step down from the TSM roster in order to take a break. His contract with Immortals is technically over, but it’s unclear whether or not he intends to return to the team after his time at IEM.

If TSM chooses to play with WildTurtle just for the tournament before finding a more permanent replacement for Doublelift, it won’t be unprecedented. In 2015, the team played IEM San Jose with Support Raymond “kaSing” Tsang on the roster, only to continue to the 2016 season with Vincent “Biofrost” Wang in the role.

Yahoo Esports will continue to follow the story of TSM’s roster as the 2017 season approaches.
