The wife of former Washington Football Team quarterback Dwayne Haskins was charged with domestic battery after she assaulted her husband in Las Vegas earlier this month.
Kalabrya Gondrezick-Haskins, 23, was arrested during an altercation where she punched Haskins, 24, following an argument on July 3 while the two were visiting the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
“I want her out of my room,” Haskins told a security officer at the Cosmopolitan after he was struck, 8 News Now reported. "She hit me and cut my lip open.”
Haskins and his wife, who live together in Pittsburgh, were in Vegas for a wedding with more than a dozen of their friends.
The group reportedly had different interests on one of the nights they were there, so they split up, according to the outlet. As Gondrezick-Haskins and her friends were getting ready to attend a Magic Mike show, Haskins and his friends left for Drai’s Beach Club & Nightclub. The decision not to wait to see his wife before separating for the night allegedly resulted in the altercation.
Gondrezick-Haskins, who told police that she did not remember hitting her husband, is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 3, when she faces a felony charge of battery and domestic violence resulting in bodily harm.
The quarterback was treated for his injuries at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.
Haskins was drafted with the 15th overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft by the Washington Football Team. He played five games with them before he was benched and subsequently released by the team. He was picked up by the Steelers after he signed a reserve/future contract in January.
The Washington Examiner contacted the Las Vegas Police Department for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
