Postponed White Sox-Guardians game rescheduled for July originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
The Chicago White Sox' postponed game with the Cleveland Guardians has been rescheduled.
The game, which was originally scheduled for May 11 before multiple positive COVID-19 tests within the Guardians, has been moved to July 23 and will be played as part of a split doubleheader, the White Sox announced Thursday morning.
Game 1, the makeup game, will begin at 12:10 p.m. CT. Game 2 will begin at 6:15 p.m. CT.
Game tickets, parking passes and club-level passes from the May 11 game will be honored for Game 1, according to the White Sox.
Wednesday's postponement marked the first of COVID-19 delay of the season for MLB. According to MLB.com, Guardians manager Terry Francona and bench coach DeMarlo Hale were among the positive cases.
The May 11 postponed game between the Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Guardians will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on Saturday, July 23. Game 1, the makeup game, will begin at 12:10 p.m. CT and the regularly scheduled contest, Game 2, will start at 6:15 p.m.
