Looking at the LSU Tigers in power rankings, the opinions are all over the map. Some have the Tigers in the bottom five of the conference and some have them in the middle of the pack. Can they do enough to climb into the top five of the SEC?

According to Cecil Hurt of the Tuscaloosa News, the Tigers come in ranked at No. 7 in the latest SEC power rankings.

Every week seems the same. LSU looks good at times but has trouble finding its identity. Remember MSU stunned the Tigers last season. – Hurt on LSU

The upcoming game against the Mississippi State Bulldogs will allow them to build some momentum before facing Auburn, Kentucky, Florida, and Ole Miss. Following the bye week, the team travels to Tuscaloosa to face off with the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.

With the game against the Bulldogs on early Saturday afternoon, LSU needs to find a way to avenge last year’s loss. Facing Auburn Saturday night in Death Valley looks a lot better at 3-1 than 2-2. With a tough stretch over the next five games, a win against Mike Leach thoroughly helps out their chances at a bowl game.
