Who and where is Alabama expected to play in the College Football Playoff?

The Alabama Crimson Tide are off to another undefeated start under head coach Nick Saban, and it appears that they are on a collision course with the Georgia Bulldogs to meet again in the National Title game again. Alabama survived a scare in Austin against the Texas Longhorns, but after handling Utah State and Louisiana Monroe with ease the Tide are ready to start conference play.

Alabama will begin its 2022 SEC campaign against the Vanderbilt Commodores in Tuscaloosa this Saturday. Alabama opens as a massive favorite. The last time these two sides met Alabama won 59-0 against a ranked Vanderbilt side.

Georgia currently holds the No. 1 spot in all of the rankings, but the Tide are not far behind. USA TODAY Sports released their bowl projections this week, and to nobody’s surprise Alabama still firmly holds a playoff spot.

As of right now, USA TODAY Sports predicts that Alabama will meet the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Fiesta Bowl semifinal. While Georgia will take on the Oklahoma Sooners in the Peach Bowl. They predict that the Tide and Bulldogs will come out victorious and meet in a back-to-back National Championship.

The Tide should take care of business against Vanderbilt this week, but after that, they head into the toughest part of their schedule with @ #10 Arkansas, #23 Texas A&M, @ #11 Tennessee, Mississippi State, @LSU and @ #16 Ole Miss. If Alabama can survive this gauntlet, they will probably surpass the Bulldogs as the No. 1 team in the land.
