West Caldwell drops game against Maiden

Jan. 13—After picking its first win of season, the West Caldwell girls' basketball team looked to continue its winning ways against Maiden on Wednesday.

Despite their best efforts, the Warriors fell to the Blue Devils 64-23.

West Caldwell is now 1-10 overall with the loss.

The Warriors were down 13-4 at the end of the first quarter.

Zoe McElyea scored six of her team-high 10 points in the second quarter, but the Warriors faced a 30-13 deficit at halftime.

In the second half, the Warriors attempted to come back, but the hole was too big to dig out of, and the Blue Devils won the game 64-23.

Cheyenne Brittain ended the game with six points, while Daylan Patterson contributed four points.

West Caldwell traveled to Lincolnton on Friday and will head to West Lincoln on Tuesday.
