Eclipses allow us to find our way away from the old and into something new. They bring liberation, lasting freedom, and an ability to walk through the empty corridors of our past with no trace of regret. When we clear out the clutter from our mind, hearts, bodies, and homes, we can access spaciousness in all areas of our lives, allowing us to feel our desires without an attachment to the outcome or a need to control. The peace we receive is a result of our practice of surrender and acceptance.
As Mercury retrogrades into the sign of Taurus on May 22, we become committed to staying on our path and preparing ourselves to be stretched past our comfort zones. There is an inner confidence that is propelling us along, a knowing that we can count on ourselves to make any necessary edits to land at our destination safe and sound.
Notice the things, within and without, that are starting to take shape. Be brave, be intentional with your future life plans, and be present with your resilient heart as you go for the things that make you feel alive, free, and in harmony with what is true for you.
When planets go retrograde, it offers us the space to take a step back. Take another look. See the big picture before we proceed. Retrogrades compel us to be still so we can sort through all that is being revealed to us. They can also bring the past to the present so we can see how far we have come and where we still have work to do to get to where we want to be.
Mercury is the planet of messages. When it retrogrades, it is an auspicious time, calling us to tap into whatever is asking for our attention, getting us to awaken to and acknowledge our self-beliefs, understanding our triggers. It is centering us so we can listen to the messages that are trying to be shared and realized and gifting us time for reflection so we can appreciate our learning curves, our technical difficulties, our choices, our consequences, our relationships, our new states of awareness, and our adaptability to change and transition.
With Mercury retrograde, there is an inner sorting of our feelings, giving us mental clarity on some of the bigger jobs we have been working on. Taking us to our growth edge guiding us to break through to the other side so we can feel safe to say how we feel and make clear choices for ourselves.
Remain confident. You will achieve what you are aiming to experience.
Mercury in Taurus
The heart holds the wisdom of the power within us. When Mercury transits into the sign of Taurus, there is an opening for us to truly understand what is possible for ourselves.
Taurus represents the devotional side of Venus, connecting us to a deeper compassion for what is carried beneath the surface of our heart. Taurus energies hold our true desires, our passions, our connection to intimacy, admirations, affections, all pulsing to be experienced. The truth and nothing but the truth is the activity of the heart.
With Mercury retrograde in Taurus, we bring the heart and mind into balance, reminding us that timing is everything. There is no need to rush into action. When we respond to the call to be still, get quiet, and let the space be open, we can receive inner peace that comes through answers, clarifications, confirmations, inner knowings, and ahas.
You may find that your energies soften around a certain subject or situation. You may experience true peace as you make choices that reflect your values. You may feel free for the first time in a long time. Taurus is associated with our freedom of expression, authenticity, and confidence. Notice how your thoughts are influencing the way you are doubting or being impatient with yourself. The invitation is to open the heart shaped box and hear yourself, your needs, your truths, your feels, and to bring your actions into harmony with your words by giving yourself permission to claim all that is yours.
We can receive insights to where we can focus our energy, so we feel secure, balanced, and loved.
How to navigate the energies this week
Eclipse energies open a six-month growth spurt. As the shifts happen, let yourself be open and quiet. Observe and allow. The next full lunar eclipse in Taurus is on November 8, 2022. It will be the gateway to a new chapter. Continue to step into your power knowing you will receive the help, support, tools, and gifts you need along the way.
Here is an offering to encourage yourself to keep going: Write a letter to yourself. Let yourself write freely, keeping any doubt out of the pen. Write to yourself as if your friend is asking the questions.
What changes need to be made to bring balance into your life?
What next part of you is ready to be discovered?
What is the one word that will keep you true to yourself?
Place what you write in a sealed envelope with your name on it. Mark your calendar, in your phone or on paper, and open the letter in six months.
Affirmation: Life, like the heart, creates an echo. What I send out, I get back. I honor all that I am.
