Harford Tech indoor track and field

The Cobras have been by top program on both the boys and girls sides during the early portion of the winter. They proved that again Saturday running away with first place at UCBAC meet at Tower Hill in Delaware. The girls beat second-place Bel Air by 100 points, 167-67, while the boys totaled 127.5, beating out second-place Bel Air.

Harford Tech athletes won seven of the 12 girls events at the meet and five on the boys side. The wins were spread out with eight different Cobras winning individual events.

5-star players

Calil Thorne, Joppatowne, boys basketball: Thorne scored 17 points and took a pass from Damian Brooks to score the game-winning layup with four seconds remaining in a one-point win over Fallston on Friday.

Payton Dinbokowitz, North Harford, girls basketball: Dinbokowitz finished with 10 points and four steals, but her game-winning 3-pointer with a second left, lifted the Hawks past C. Milton Wright on Thursday.

Winter Evans, Harford Tech, indoor track and field: In the UCBAC meet at Tower Hill in Delaware, Evans finished first in the 55-meter hurdles (8.76 seconds) and the high jump (4-10). She also ran with Madisyn Bobb, Madisen Morgan and Destiny Baker to win the 4×200 relay (1:51.87).

Lily Smeltzer, Edgewood, girls basketball: Smeltzer averaged 15 rebounds in games against Loch Raven and Rising Sun last week, including 18 to with 11 points in the win over the Tigers.

Morgan Hargrove, Aberdeen, girls basketball: Hargrove's 27 points against Kenwood are the second-most for an area girl in a game this season. She followed it up with 18 points against Patterson Mill.
