College football Re-Rank 1-130: Major changes in top 25 after Week 3

Alabama, Georgia and Oregon remain on top but major changes dominate the second half of the top 25 in this week's USA TODAY Sports NCAA Re-Rank 1-130.

The No. 1 Crimson Tide stay ahead of No. 2 Georgia after fending off No. 9 Florida in Gainesville for a 31-29 win. The Ducks stick at No. 3 after taking care of business at home against Stony Brook. No. 4 Penn State is up three spots after beating Auburn, pushing Iowa down one to No. 5.

There are seven new unbeaten teams in the top 25: No. 15 Brigham Young, No. 18 Arkansas, No. 19 Wake Forest, No. 20 Kansas State, No. 23 San Diego State, No. 24 Michigan State and No. 25 Fresno State.

The Aztecs are one of nine teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision and two in the Group of Five, along with BYU, to notch two wins against Power Five competition. Kansas State has two very solid wins against Stanford and Nevada. Fresno State had one of the biggest upsets of the weekend by beating previously undefeated UCLA.

Wake Forest rolled past Florida State to knock the Seminoles down to 0-3 for the first time since 1976, former coach Bobby Bowden's first season. After handing Miami (Fla.) a convincing loss, Michigan State is one of the success stories of the young season.

Other contenders for the College Football Playoff made moves in the 1-130. Michigan is up eight spots to No. 10 after beating Northern Illinois by 53 points. That ranks No. 11 Ohio State fourth among Big Ten teams. Even in a loss, Florida is up four spots to No. 9 after giving Alabama all it could handle.
