The Dallas Cowboys injury report is looking good, really good, but that’s a bunch of fool’s gold. The team only has one name appearing on the report, but that’s because the injuries the team is working through are severe enough to have those players placed on the three-week minimum injured reserve list.

The only name still on there does have some good news attached though, as cornerback Jourdan Lewis was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, indicating the Cowboys should have their full compliment of defensive backs to take on Julio Jones and the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Falcons have a bit of stress as left tackle Jake Matthews was not practicing with a knee issue.

Matthews has played in every game since joining the league, but did leave last week’s home loss to the Seattle Seahawks for a stretch. He finished the game, so it may just be precautionary that he doesn’t work until it makes the most difference, but a hobbled lineman facing Aldon Smith is not where Atlanta wants to be as both teams fight to avoid an 0-2 start.

The Cowboys placed LB Leighton Vander Esch, TE Blake Jarwin and OT Cam Erving on IR on Tuesday. Brandon Carr was promoted to the 53-man roster from the Dallas practice squad and the team signed LB Rashad Smith and OT Alex Light from the Bears and Cardinals.
