How to watch Wizards vs. Nuggets originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

The Wizards are hot, kind of.

Washington may still have one of the worst records in the NBA at 8-17, but the team is coming off two straight wins on back-to-back days. The strong performances came against the Boston Celtics and John Wall's Houston Rockets.

Now, the Wizards will look that running streak to three come Wednesday night on NBC Sports Washington, but it won't be easy. Coming to down is a dangerous Denver Nuggets team.

Led by a potential MVP candidate in Nikola Jokic, Denver has rebounded from a slow start to the season to propel itself back into playoff positioning in the Western Conference.

The team will provide a major challenge for the Wizards. Here's everything you need to know about the contest.

A win is a win, but Washington's victory on Monday shouldn't have been too surprising. Houston was without four key players leading to a depleted lineup on the court. Now, Denver will provide a much tougher test for the Wizards. Can this team compete with a top unit that features All-NBA caliber stars? It's time to see.

An interesting thing to keep an eye on could be the play of Russell Westbrook. The point guard played in his first back-to-back of the season on Sunday and Monday after typically resting for one of the games so far this campaign. Seeing what his energy level is and how his body reacts to more work will be something to monitor.

Davis Bertans, F, Wizards (10.5 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.0 apg): Bertans isn't the dominant three-point shooter he was during the past season, but he's beginning to get his touch once again. Coming off a five-for-six showing from long range he'll look to continue that positive performance and build on it against the Nuggets.

Nikola Jokic, C, Nuggets (26.5 ppg, 11.5 rpg, 8.7 apg): Close to a triple-double on the season, Jokic is showing that the center position can still be dominant. A talented scorer and passer, Denver's offense runs through him a majority of the time. Not many have had success stopping him so far this year and now it'll be up to the Wizards to give it a try.
