Watch Thousands of Belligerent Hockey Fans Make a Little Kid’s Day

No matter the location and whether your team is losing or not, even the painfully shy won’t deny a piece of that sweet Jumbotron action. During a Detroit Red Wings game against the Anaheim Ducks, a tiny hockey fan named Mason got more than his fill of cheers after appearing on the big screen.

An enormous crowd of typically belligerent Red Wings fans made Mason’s day as they cheered at the jumbotron everytime his face appeared, only to boo when literally anything else came onto the screen. It took him a little bit of time to figure out what was happening, but the 2-year-old was all smiles once he realized it was him they were cheering. And boy did they cheer.

After getting lots of love from the fans, Mason was then awarded “Honorary First Star of the Game.” Not bad for what was likely his first appearance at a professional arena.
