WATCH: Texas QB Hudson Card tosses a dime to Ja’Tavion Sanders for a touchdown

Texas quarterbacks Quinn Ewers and Hudson Card are amidst an intense position battle this offseason.

The competition is likely to trickle through fall camp, as each signal-caller has impressed through several spring practices thus far. Last week, numerous highlights surfaced on social media of Ewers dropping dimes all over the field.

On Monday, it was Card’s turn. Texas released a highlight video from over the weekend of Card throwing a perfectly placed ball to tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders for a touchdown.

While much of the focus has been on the two talented quarterbacks, Sanders has been a bright spot for Texas this spring and has showcased every bit of his five-star rating.

Texas’ tight end group suddenly has one of the highest ceilings on the team. Experienced Alabama transfer Jahleel Billingsley provides an upgrade at the position, and with Sanders seemingly taking the next step this offseason, the sky is the limit for what this group can accomplish in 2022. The Longhorns also have talented sophomore Gunnar Helm for solid depth.

There’s certainly no shortage of pass catchers on the offensive side of the ball for whichever quarterback wins the job.
