It looked like Jackie Bradley Jr. had put the Boston Red Sox ahead.

In the final game of the 2019 regular season, the Red Sox were tied with the Baltimore Orioles by a score of 4-4 in the bottom of the eighth inning when the Red Sox centerfielder cracked a deep fly into right field. It looked like the ball would have just enough to get over the fence.

But Stevie Wilkerson had other plans.

The Orioles' rightfielder got a good jump on the ball and as he neared the 380 marker in deep right field, he made a phenomenal catch that looked almost impossible. Here's a look at that catch courtesy of the Red Sox Stats Twitter account.

That is just absurd. In fact, according to Sean McAdam of the Boston Sports Journal, Dwight Evans texted Dennis Eckersley to say that Wilkerson's play was "the greatest catch ever by a right fielder in Fenway Park." So, needless to say, that is extremely high praise.

However, the Red Sox would earn the last laugh in this contest. They won the game by a final score of 5-4 after a walk-off single by Rafael Devers. Brandon Workman earned the win in the finale, his 10th of the season.
