Watch Red Sox prospect Triston Casas' latest massive home run originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

There's a lot to like about the Boston Red Sox right now.

They are one of the best teams in Major League Baseball and sit atop the American League East division with a 55-36 record entering a four-game series against the rival New York Yankees beginning Thursday night at Yankee Stadium.

The Red Sox sent five players to the 2021 MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday, and more impressive talent should be on its way to the major leagues in the near future.

The top prospect in Boston's farm system is Triston Casas, who the team selected with the 26th overall pick in the first round of the 2018 MLB Draft.

Casas is a very good hitter, and he's been showcasing his talent at the plate for Double-A Portland in 2021. The latest example came Wednesday night when he blasted a massive home run to right field in a 5-2 win over Reading.

Casas has now hit six home runs with 30 RBI and 21 walks in 45 games for the Sea Dogs this season.

He probably won't make his MLB debut until next year, but there's certainly a lot to like about his development so far.

The Red Sox farm system has improved quite over the last couple years, and the latest boost came last weekend when the Boston drafted high school shortstop Marcelo Mayer with the No. 4 overall pick.
